In this chapter you will find how we supported youths’ interests and ideas come to life by offering them to start and lead their own initiatives and projects, so called Youth-led initiatives. You will find general information about Youth-led initiatives, what kind of support was given, for example our Youth project fund, as well a selection of Highlighted youth-led initiatives initiated during the project period.

At the heart of this project was the offer to youths to develop and run their own initiative. These initiatives could be both big and long-term projects, such as building a community garden, as well as smaller and one-time events, such as a banner making workshop. The focus had to be on climate and environment and the initiatives had to fulfill the set initiative criteria (see Youth-led initiatives criteria).
In this youth-led initiatives program we also offered the possibility for youths to apply for initiative funding from a certain **Youth project fund** to finance their initiatives.
At the makerspaces, we offered on-site support, including guidance and expert input, from the Youth team leads and the Local coordinator. See **Youth-led initiatives support** for more information on supporting and mentoring initiatives.
